Hooping is a beautiful, transformative, and meditative way to stay fit while having fun, sharing laughs, and feeling good. Once you pick up the habit of hooping, you will notice an increase in energy, a fitter body, and a greater sense of self-worth. Much more than a workout, our hoop dance classes encourage a total mind/body transformation, and a reconfiguration of popular thought. It’s a spiraling, whirling, luminosity that surfaces out of total peace of mind, passion and presence in the now!

At Kaivalya, our hoopdance classes are created with an emphasis on dance and trick techniques. We will encourage you, once a move is learned, to put your own creative spin into it, to explore the many possibilities. The question is not “What can you possibly do with a hoop?” but “What can’t be done with a hoop?”

Hoopdancing incorporates elements of yoga, fusion dance, belly dance, rhythmic gymnastics, and various forms of martial arts. You may soon find yourself “addicted” to hoop dancing. This is quite common because it is so much fun!

In time, we wish to expand our hoop dance fitness classes throughout the front range. Please contact us if you’re interested in a weekend workshop or having us come teach at your studio!

What We Offer

Kaivalya’s Hoopdance Classes We offer a variety of classes and can easily fuse or adapt different class types together to cater to any level of demand – beginner to advanced hoop dance, double hoop dance, double mini (poi) hoop dance etc. We can additionally offer classes for the following props: Poi, Flags, Dart, Contact Staff, Double Staff, and Wings of Isis.

Hoopdance Playshops: Designed for festivals and private parties, this class generally is taught by two or more hoopdance instructors, due to a larger more diverse level of hoopers. This playshop can also be taught to a child audience, with custom made child-size hoops.
